Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller, this role will lead the continued development and maintenance of accounting policy and procedure.  The position will also drive the development and documentation of the Company’s internal control environment, working closely with the internal audit team and key business managers. 

Areas of Responsibility:

Technical Accounting Matters

  • Lead the development and review of accounting policy documentation.  Integrate changes associated with ERP migration.

  • Stay current with US GAAP and appropriately maintain accounting documentation.

Internal Control and Compliance Environments

  • Identify and integrate key internal control activities across the Company, with a focus on the accounting functions. 

  • Lead the development of internal control associated narratives and process flow documentation.

  • Coordinate documentation and audits with the Company’s Internal Audit function.

  • Lead cross-functional meetings of the Company’s Internal Control and Compliance Committee.

Other

  • Coordinate accounting policy documentation and changes with the Accounting teams.

  • Special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.

  • Influence strategy for growing the internal controls team.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA preferred).

  • Public accounting or SEC/SOX experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems.

  • Background in reviewing control environments.

  • Strong knowledge of and ability to interpret and research US GAAP.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate accounting issues with various departments.

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

  • A team player, able to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization.
