Indirect Tax Specialist

Job Description

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Main Areas of Responsibility:

• Review customer exemption certificates and determine allowable exemptions and set tax status of customer accounts
• Review customer account for appropriate application of exemption certificate and process tax credits on customer accounts
• Communicate with internal and external customers

Additional Areas of Responsibility, as requested:

• Prepare and submit business licenses and property taxes
• Assist with compiling sales and use tax compliance data
• Assist in gathering and retaining tax audit data and documentation
• Provide support to maintain tax systems
• Assist with seasonal and project assignments

Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Specialized Knowledge and Skills (including certifications, licenses, equipment, applications, other technology, etc.)

Solid oral and written communication skills for internal and external contact

Willingness to accept guidance regarding project and task prioritization

Time management, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to operate personal computer; experience with Microsoft Office products; ERP and billing software experience a plus
