Job Description

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited, to:

Main areas of responsibilities, with audit and project focus:

  • Provide tax-related and general assistance to tax management team
  • Assist with pulling audit reports, invoices, conducting analysis, and submitting details to taxing jurisdictions
  • Work with various team members and departments on seasonal and project assignments related to Indirect Tax areas of responsibility

Additional areas of responsibilities, as needed:

  • Review and/or submit sales, use, gross receipts and similar transaction-based tax returns, business licenses, or Secretary of State filings
  • Provide guidance to tax department personnel regarding review and processing of customer exemption certificates
  • Coordinate with third party provider regarding the handling of property tax filings and retention of supporting documents
  • Research and provide tax guidance to internal and external customers, and communicate directly with state and local taxing jurisdictions to resolve tax notices
  • Assist coordination of tax system maintenance, which may include jurisdictional setups, product taxability, and customer resale and exemption certificates
  • Analyze and develop reporting related to monthly/annual data or for project related assignments
  • Review and provide guidance to tax team regarding tax write-off requests, which may include invoice and resale or exemption certificate review as well as interdepartmental and client interaction

Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. 

Education and Work Experience :

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Specialized Knowledge and Skills (including certifications, licenses, equipment, applications, other technology, etc.):

  • Knowledge of accounting and tax concepts and principles

  • Solid oral and written communication skills for internal and external contact

  • Ability to take ownership of all assigned projects and tasks

  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills

  • Proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products; experience with ERP and billing systems; sales tax software and tax research experience a plus
