ABC Supply is seeking an AutoCAD Technician to join the Drafting Design Team. In this role, you will work individually, as well as part of the design team, in developing and executing drawing revisions, remodels, relocations, new construction, and complete site/building plans. As an AutoCAD Technician, this position will also be responsible for maintaining and updating the historical drawing database as required throughout the duration of the construction projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately and proficiently communicate design and construction details through drawings
- Developing design documents to be used for budgeting and conceptual scope of work efforts
- Creating a visible system to track and report on the status of design projects
- Developing and managing digital models for design projects
- Managing workflows and priorities as design requests are submitted
- Reporting and tracking design project status on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
- Assisting with racking layouts and material mark-ups
- Coordinating with consultants, construction managers, architects, and engineers on projects/design documentation
- Organize and maintain ABC Supply / L&W Supply Drawing archive
- Work with the ABC team on job site visits for design needs or documenting existing buildings and conditions
- Maintaining and updating AutoCAD block directory and templates as needed
- Adhering to proper building codes on each project
- Facilitating an open line of communication with the entire project team
- All other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A two-year technical degree (CAD Operation) or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- General knowledge of Standards for State and Local Government Facilities, ADA Standards for Accessible Design
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Reader, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
- Ability to conduct quality control to ensure accuracy and consistency

- Ability to take the initiative to reach out for information through conversation and interaction with the drafting team and project managers
- Identify the information needed to clarify a situation, seek that information from appropriate resources, and use skillful questioning to resolve any confusion or unclear redlines/comments
- Openness to different and alternate ways of completing a task; willingness to modify one’s preferred way of doing things
- Completes work with urgency, and prioritizes time-sensitive requests, without decreasing the accuracy and completeness of drawings produced
